Agro-Climatic Zone-wise total
65 technical recommendations were included in package of practices in Rabi 2007
are follows-
Zone I-a (ATC Rampura,
Jodhpur)
1. For control of aphid in
mustard spray of Thiamethoxarn 25 WG @ 100 g/ha at its appearance was
recommended as an alternative to already recommended chemicals.
2. Application of
oxadiargyl @ 90 g/ha (pre- emergence) in mustard crop for control of broad
leaved weeds.
3. Application of two spray
of cow urine 10 % + garlic extract 2 % + NSKE 2.5 % for the management of
aphids and blight in organic cumin.
4. Castor variety DCS - 9
found suitable for cultivation in the zone
5. Application of 75%
recommended dose of fertilizers + 25 % N through FYM + seed treatment with
Azospirillum @ 100 g/kg seecj + phosphate solubalizing bacteria @ 600
g/ha mix with 100 kg FYM and applied in rows as integrated nutrient
management in castor.
6. Sulphur application @ 20
Kg/ha through Gypsum in Castor.
7. To manage the wilt
disease of Isabgol seed treatment with carbendazim 50 WP @ 2 gm/kg along
with amending the soil with farm yard manure (FYM) 5 ton/ha + Triqnoderma
culture @2.5 kg/ha was found most effective.
Zone I-b (ATC Srikaranpur,
(Ganganagar)/ Hanumangarh)
1. Mustard (RGN-73) was
included in pop.
2. Two irrigations through
sprinkler after 40 & 80 days of sowing in Mustard crop at 6 cm depth.
3. Water Management - Cotton
and wheat may be irrigated with groundwater having EC upto 5ds/m, however,
soils having initial EC 0.5 to 1.0 ds/m require ground water irrigation
limited to three in wheat and two in cotton, rest irrigation should be given
by canal water.
4. Castor- MRCA-409- optimum
sowing during 1st week of July.
Zone I-c (ATC Loonkaransar)
1. For effective control of
weeds in Gram and fenugreek Use fluchloreline weedicides @ 760 gm a.i./ha in
500 lts. of water before sowing followed by one hoeing& weeding after 30 days
of sowing.
2. Spray of Imancetine-
banjoat @ 0.4 gm/lit of water or Endoscarb @ 200 ml/ha for effective control
of pod borer in gram.
3. Use of Plastic sheet (25
micron) for mulching in drip irrigation in fenugreek saves the 40% of water in
comparison to flood irrigation.
4. For control of broad
leaved weeds in wheat spray of carfantrazone (s.g) @ 20 gm/ha in 500 lit.
water was found effective.
Zone – II-a (ATC Tabiji,
Ajmer)
1. Spray of Thionithacsam
25WG @100 gm/ha for control of aphid in Mustard.
2. Spray of fermented
Gau-Mutra 10% and extract of neem leaves 5% for control of aphid in fenugreek.
3. For Nagouri Methi use of
40 kg/ P2O5 and 30 Kg. S /ha before
sowing.
Zone – II-b (ATC Sumerpur,
Pali)
1. Garm - To control the
Termite, use 2.5 kg per ha Bavaeria spp. of metariziaum spp. (fungus) mixed
with 100 kg well rotted FYM or vermi compost for 72 hours then mixed in soil
before sowing.
2. Barley - To control the
Termite, use 5 kg per ha Bavaeria spp. of metariziaum spp. (fungus) mixed with
100 kg well rotted FYM or vermi compost for 72 hours then mixed in soil before
sowing
Zone III-a (ATC Tabiji, Ajmer)
Bread wheat var. Raj -4083,
already released and notified for cultivation in Peninsular Zone, has been
found suitable for cultivation under late sown irrigated conditions (date of
sowing 2nd to 3rd week of December)
under irrigated coarse textured agro-ecological situations.
Bread' wheat var. DBW-17,
released and notified from CVRC for NWPZ, is suitable for cultivation under
irrigated coarse textured, agro-ecological situations.
Foliar spray of thio-urea @
500 ppm or TGA @ 100 ppm at tillering and ear-head formation stages resulted
in higher yield of wheat crop under limited irrigation (4 irrigations at CRI,
late -tillering, boot and milking stages) under irrigated coarse textured
agro-ecological situation.
4. In chickpea-bajra cropping
sequence, Soil application of S (as gypsum @ 230 kg/ha) and FeS04 ( 6 kg
Fe/ha) each @ 30 Kg/ha alongwith VC @ 5t/ha in Rabi season and seed
treatment with sod. Molybdade 3.5 g /kg seed in S, Fe, Mo and organic matter
deficient soils, under irrigated course textured agro-ecological situations,
gave higher net returns.
5. In mustard,-guar cropping
sequence, application of Zn @ 5 kg/ha (as 25 kg/ha ZnS04) and S @30 kg/ha.(as
gypsum @ 230 kg/ha) alongwith Azotobacter in Rabi season, in Zn
and S deficient Soils, gave higher net returns under irrigated coarse textured
agro-ecological situation.
6 Crop geometry of 10x10 cm
was found most suitable for onion crop under irrigated coarse textured
agro-ecological situation.
Last irrigation at 10 days
before harvest without curing was found better for higher onion bulb
production under irrigated under coarse textured agro ecological situation.
Application of FYM @ 20 t/ha
or V C @ 7.5 t/ha with recommended D/Se of NPK (100 : 50 :100 kg/ha) gave
higher onion bulb yield under irrigated under coarse textured agro-ecological
situation
Seedlings root dip in GA 3
solution of 100 ppm for 6.0 hours before transplanting and foliar spray of N @
1.0% (Urea @ 22g/1) at 30 (200 I solution/ha) and 45 (300 I solution/ha) days
after transplanting gave higher onion bulb yield under irrigated course
textured agro-ecological situations .
Soil application of 75% of
the recommended dose of N and recommended dose of phosphorus and potash, and
transplanting seedlings after dipping roots in Azospirillum / Azotobacter
(500 g in 20 lit water/ha) gave higher marketable fruit yield in tomato
under irrigated coarse textured agro-ecological situations.
Sowing of summer squash and
watermelon during 1O~20 December and muskmelon during 15-20 December in low
polythene tunnels resulted in early and higher fruit yield in these crops.
Fusarium
wilt of tomato was effectively managed by
application' of green manure (Sun hemp sown on 15th May @ 80 kg/ha and
ploughed down on 30th June) followed by neem cake @ 10 q/ha and seedling dip
in Trichoderma viride solution (4 g/I water) before transplanting and
soil application of the same bio-agent @ 2.5 kg (mixed in 50 kg FYM/ha) 10
days before planting.
Operation of drip irrigation
system in cabbage crop with discharge of 1.5 l/hr/dripper for 3 hours duration
and 3 days irrigation frequency saves water, fertilizer and labors besides
enhancing yield under irrigated coarse textured agro-ecological situations.
For application of drip irrigation system, transplanting of cabbage seedlings
should done on ridge bed in three rows per bed and dripper lines, having 30 cm
spacing should be placed between two rows of cabbage
Operation of drip irrigation
system in cauliflower crop with discharge 1.5 lit/ha /dripper for 3
hours duration and 3 days irrigation frequency saves water fertilizer and
labors besides enhancing yield under irrigated coarse textured agro-ecological
situations. For application of drip irrigation system; transplanting of
cauliflower seedlings should be done on ridge-bed in three rows per bed and
dripper lines having 30 cm spacing, should be placed between two rows of
cauliflower
Spray with NAA @ 50 ppm or
Triacontanol @ l ppm at 40 and 60 DAS gave higher seed yield in coriander
under irrigated coarse, textured agro-ecological situation.
Composted (@ 10 t/ha) or
vermi'-composted (@ 5 t/ha) with high grade, rock phosphate (@ 3%, for
phosphorous) and gypsum (@ 1 %, for sulphur fertilizer can be used in place of
phosphatic and sulphur fertilizers, jn coriander under course irrigated
textured agro-ecological situations.
In Zn deficient soils,
application of Zn @ 5 kg/ha (as 25 kg/ha ZnS04) gave higher seed yield in
Isabgol under course irrigated textured agro-ecological situations.
Groundnut-onion cropping
sequence has given higher net return over pearl millet- wheat in Dausa
region, where sufficient irrigation facilities are available under irrigated
coarse textured agro-ecological situations.
After pesticidal use of
imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 250 ml/ha or endosulfan -35EC @1.25 l/ha, sprayed
before fruiting and 15 days later,' a waiting period of 3 days is recommended
for safe consumption of cabbage. In tomato, when the same D/Se of imidac1oprid
17.8 SL was sprayed at 50% fruit setting and 15 days later, 2 days waiting
period is recommended.
Soil application of powdered
neem cake @ 10 q/ha effectively managed the problem of Cereal Cyst Nematode in
wheat crop in Jamwa Ramgarh area (Jaipur) under irrigated coarse textured
agro-ecological situations.
Zone III-b (ATC Malikpur,
Bharatpur)
1. Two rowed malt barley
variety RD - 2668 (37.64 qt. /ha exhibited its superiority over best check six
rowed RD - 2503 (35.37 qt/ha) showing 6.42 % increase in grain yield. It
matures in 110 days, hence recommended for the zone.
2. Prophylactic spray of
aqueous extract (2% w/v) of Azadirachta leaf or Eucalyptus leaf or mancozeb @
0.2 % at 50 and 70 days after sowing against Alternaria blight, white rust and
powdery mildew diseases of mustard was recommended.
3. Highest mean yield of
methi grain (22.26 qtl/ha) and highest net return/ha were obtained with one
cutting at 45 DAS and applying 10 kg Nitrogen as top dressing at the time of
cutting. The recommendation was approved by the House.
Zone IV-a (ATC Chittorgarh)
1. Wheat variety HI-1500 and
HI-1531 recommended for limited irrigation (CRI + Maximum tillering stage)
2. Kabuli Gram variety PKV KAK-2.
3. 120 kg Nitrogen, 40 kg.
P2O5 and 30 kg K2O /ha to wheat crop for maize-wheat crop rotation.
4. Methyl parathion 2% dust at 7 days after
sowing for control of painted bug in Mustard.
5. Seed treatment with
Imidachloprid 75SP @7.5 g/kg seed for Painted bug management in mustard.
6. For integrated control of
reniform nematode in gram, seed treatment with 5g/kg seed each of Trichoderma
viride, Psedumonas florenses or 10 g neem seed powder.
2. Durum wheat variety HI
8627 for limited irrigation (Subjected to notification.
3. For weed management in
wheat crop post emergence spray of either sulfosulfuran @ 25 g.a.i./ha or
Metsulfuran @4 g.a.i/ha.
4. If deficiency of micro
nutrients in soil is recorded than basal application of mixture of ZnSO4 @ 25
kg/ha + CuSo4 @ 10kg/ha + FeSo4 @10 kg/ha should be applied in mustard and
gram crop.
Zone –V (ATC Chattarpura,
Bundi)
1. Variety Chipsona-3 of
potato is incuded in PoP.
2. Kufri Pukhraj, Kufri
Pushkar, Kufri Bahar, Kufri Badhshah varieties of potato was found suitable
for cultivation in tribal area of Rajasthan.
3. For effective control of
bud fly spray of Acephate 75SP @ 500 gm/ha or Dimethoate 30EC one lit/ha at
the time of bud formation.
4. Mustard variety RNG-73.
This is moderate resistant to stem rot and white rust.
5. Variety GNG-469 (Samrat).
6. For control of pod borer
in gram spray of Acephate 75SP @ 500 gm /ha. after 20-25 and 40-45 DAS
7. Sugarcane variety
CoS-00421 (early)
8. Coriender variety RCr-480.
9. Soybean -onion and
soybean-garlic was found more economic in comprassion of soybean-wheat crop
rotation.
10. IPM and disease
management techinques of Onion was included in PoP.
11. Itercropping of Fenugreek
in 3 years old orchards of Aoanla was found most economic.
12. For control of web
forming insect of mango spray of chlorpyriphos 20 EC @ 2 ml/lt. of water.

Zone I-a
.Arid western plain.
1. Compaction of furrows
through 4 kg rubber wheel behind each tine of tractor driven seed drill to
combat crust formation and better seedling establishment in pearl millet.
2. Management of leaf spot
and stem blight of moongbean by seed treatment with carbendazim 50 WP @ 2
g/kg seed followed by two foliar spray of carbendazim @ 0.1% ( 1 g/lit).
First at initiation of the disease and subsequent at 15 days interval.
3. Management of bacterial
leaf spot of moong bean by seed dip treatment with streptocycline @ 300 ppm
(3 g/lit of water) followed by two foliar spray of streptocycline @ 100 ppm,
first at initiation of the disease and subsequent at 15 days interval.
4. Management of leaf
crinkles /mosaic diseases and vector of moth bean through non-chemical i.e.
garlic extract 5% + neem seed extract 5% mixture or Azadirachtin (NSKE) 4% +
cow urine 10% proved as an alternative to chemical control.
5. For management of sesame
diseases IDM module of seed treatment with thiram (0.2%) + carbandizim
(0.1%) and two spray of mancozeb (0.2%) + endosulfan (0.07%) at 30-45 DAS
and 45-55 DAS was recommended.
6. For management of
yellowing in groundnut foliar spray of FeSO4 @ 0.5% + Citric acid @ 0.1% at
40 and 55 DAS was recommended.
Zone I-B
Irrigated North Western Plain
1. Post emergence
application of ACEFLUROFEN 25 EC (UPH- 204) @ 2.0 lit/ha at 25-30 days after
germination for effective control of narrow and broad leaved weeds in Moong
crop.
2. Groundnut: Cotton
intercropping practice is included.
3. Groundnut variety TBG-39
for confectionery purpose.
4. Application of 20 kg
sulphur/ha through 150 kg Gypsum in American Cotton crop.
5. Foliar spray of
Spionosad 45 w/w with new A: D ratio recommended for control of Cotton
bollworms.
6. Painting formulation
involving painting with Ridomil @ 20 gm/lit of Linseed oil and talc based
Pseudomonas Fluorescence @ 100 gm/lit. water used in Kinnow crop.
Zone I-c -
Hyper arid partial irrigated zone.

effective control of collar rot disease of Groundnut.
Zone-III a
Semi arid eastern plains
1. In cluster bean if 2.5
t/ha vermicomposted HGPR is used then apply only 50% recommended dose of
nitrogen and phosphorous in the field.
2. Seventy five percent
plant density of groundnut with 100% plant density of cluster bean in
groundnut-cluster bean intercropping (3:1 row ratio), and application of
100% RDF in groundnut in 50% RDF in cluster bean resulted into higher
groundnut equivalent yield.
3. Combined seed
inoculation with PSB and PGPR along with Rhizobium each @ 600g/ha resulted
into higher nodulation and grain yield in moon bean.
4. Seed treatment with
thiomethozam 70 WS @ 2.8 mg/kg provides safe storage upto 9 month for moong
bean seed. It can be ued as an alternate to deltamethrin which is already
recommended
5. In cowpea,
vermicomposted HGPR in 15:1 ratio with PSB @ 1.5 t/ha can be applied as an
alternative source of phosphatic fertilizers.
6. Application of 75% RDF +
10 t FYM or 5t VC alongwith seed inoculation of Azotobacter results in
higher green fodder yield of sorghum grown during summer season.
7. A tractor drawn seed cum
fertilizer drill for inter cropping has been developed. The machine has
eight furrow openers for separate delivery of seed and fertilizer. It has
provision for sowing of two types of seed (pearlmillet/ moong-bean/cluster
bean/urdbean/maize) at desired seed rate in different rows at variable
spacing.
Zone IIIb - Flood
prone eastern plain
1. Guar variety RGC-1002
was included in package of practices.
2. To manage sucking pests
of Cotton crop seed treatment with Gaucho @ 5 gm/kg seed was include.
suitable planting
3. Inclusion of Oxyflurofen
(0.25 kg a.i./ha (preemergence or pendimethilene) @ 1 kg a.i. /ha (preemergence)
and one hand weeding at 60 days after sowing for weed management in cotton.
4. Inclusion of oxyflurofen
(0.2 kg air/ha preemergence) and one hand weeding after three weeks of
sowing to manage santhi weed in Bajra.
5. Suitable planting time
to get onion seed (bulblets) for kharif onion is between 15th of December to
15 January.
6. Use of agrinet at
nursery level to get disease free seedling in tomato and chillies.
Zone IV A
- Sub-humid southern plains.
1. In sorghum crop (for
fodder) use 5 tones/ha FYM along with seed inoculated with Azospirillum and
application of 75% recommended dose of fertilizer.
2. for effective management
of nematode in vegetable crops the crop rotation of Okra –Cabbage-Guar is
recommended.
3. Deep Summer sloughing
followed by seed treatment with carbosulfan 25SD @3% is recommended for
management of rainfed nematode in Moong and cowpea.
4. 90 kg and 40 kg P2O5 is
recommended for corn maize varieties. The optimum plant population is 66000
plant/ha.
5. Spray of Triazophos 20
EC @ 600 gm a.i./ha at ETL was found most effective for management of boll
worm complex in cotton
6. For effective management
of collar rot disease of ground nut seed treatment with mix fungicide
carboxin + Thiram (1 : 1) @ 3g/ kg seed recommended.
7. Keeping in view the
importance of organic farming practices most effective management of Maize
cyst nematode can be achieved by seed treatment with Neem seed kernel powder
or karanj seed powder 10% along with soil application with neem cake or
karanj cake @2 gm/ha.
8. Seedling raised in
solarized nursery beds treated with carbofuran @ 0.3 gm a.i. /m2 followed by
soil application of neem cake @ 500 kg/ha infield can effective manage root
knot nematode in Brinjal, Chillies and Tomato.
9. For effective management
of root rot disease of soybean seed treatment with mix fungicide carboxin +
Thiram (1:1) @ 3% g/kg seed is recommended.
Zone IV-B
Humid southern plains.
1. Intercropping for maize
and soybean 2:2 is optimum ratio for weed management application of
Pendemethalin weedicide @ 1.00 kg a.i. /ha just after sowing followed by one
hoeing and weeding at 30 DAS is recommended.
Zone Vth
Humid south eastern
1. Spray of Quijalophos
ethyal 50 a.i. or Fenaxaprop P – Ethyle 70 gm a.i. + clorifuron ethyal 9 gm
per ha after 15-25 days after sowing of Urd crop for the effective control
all types grass and broad leaved weeds.
2. Spray of Clorifuron
ethyal 6 gm per ha + Fenaxaprop P – Ethyle 50 gm a.i. or Quijalophos ethyal

Zone I-B
Irrigated North Western Plain
1. New varieties Raj DH-9
(Hybrid Desi Cotton) RGC -986 (Guar) SML-668 and Ganga-1 (Moong.) were
included.
2. Row to row 67.5 cm and
plant to plant 60 cm plant geometry and P2O5 40 kg./ha for Desi hybrid
cotton Raj DH-9.
3. Under A-Cotton
pendamethaline as pre planting spray @ 1.0 Kg a.i. /ha instead of 1.5 kg
a.i./ha.
4. Seed treatment with
Pseudomonas @ 10 gm/kg seed or with Vitavex 200 WP @ 3 gm/kg seed in
A-Cotton.
5. Seed treatment with
Gliocladium virens @ 10 g/kg seed and soil treatment @ 10 kg/ ha with 200
kg well rotted FYM for control of root rot and collor rot in ground nut
crop.
6. Under wheat –cotton
system, zinc sulphate @ 12 kg/ha on soil test basis may be applied where
wheat has been supplemented with 12 kg zinc sulphate/ha.
7. RS-2013 cultivar of
hirsutum cotton found batter for high water table areas and those areas
where irrigation facilities are abundant.
Zone I-c
- Hyper arid partial irrigated zone.
1. Add 12.50 qtl/ bigha
farm yard behind the harrow in furrows in barani area for better
germination of bajra.
2. For getting more yield
of Bajra in less precipitation area Bajra should be sown in lines and 30
days after sowing, at the time of weeding and hoeing ridges should be
formed with plant lines.
3. For taking Guar crop
in sandy soils with alkaline water of 4 RSC add 50% of Gypsum required.
4. With 3 EC of saline
water through drip irrigation, in sandy soils Lauki can be grown
successfully.
Zone-II a.
Internal Drainage Dry zone
1. Treat the groundnut seed before sowing with
1 gm. Bavistin+2 gm. Thiram/ kg seed. For organic farming treat the seed with 10
gm. Trichoderma harzianum along with soil treatment with 2.0 kg Trichoderma
harzianum mixed with 40 kg FYM.
2. Seed soaking of bajra before sowing with 1
gm. Thio-urea in 1 liter for 5-6 hours after that drying the seed under shade
for 2-3 hours.
3 RCP-27 variety of Cow-pea is included in pop.
Zone-II b.
Transitional plain of Luni basin
1. Spray of Thiomethoxam 25 WG @ 100 gm./ha
effectively control leaf curl disease of Sesame which is transmitted by
whitefly followed by Acetameprid 25 WG @ 100 gm./ha at time of infection.
2. Spray of Imidachloprid 200 SL @ 150 ml/ha
effectively control the sucking pest in moong-bean at 30-35 days after sowing.
Zone-III a
Semi arid eastern plains
1. The use of Chemical
fertilizers can be reduced by 25% of the recommended dose with the use of
vermi compost @ 2.5 t/ha along with Azotobactor and PSB for taking at par
yield in pearl millet.
2. Groundnut variety RG-382
has been released and notified for cultivation and hence is included in the
POP.
3. Groundnut variety TG-37 A
released and notified by CVRC for zone –I. Which includes northern part of
Rajasthan, with early maturity (100-110 days) was recommended for inclusion in
POP for cultivation with the conditions that it should be sown with the onset
of monssson and be harvested immediately at maturity.
4. Use of poultry manure @
10t/ha along with biofertilizer (Rhizobium + PGPR + PSB) or bio-pesticides (Trichoderma,
neem oil, neem cake ) in confectionary groundnut results into at par yields
into at par yields to recommended dose of chemical fertilizers.
5. Incidence of clump virus
of groundnut can be effectively reduced by growing pearl millet @ 100 kg/ha
seed rate as the bait crop. The pearl millet crop be ploughed down at the 15
DAS followed by sowing of groundnut.
6. Moong bean variety RMG-
492 has been released and notified for cultivation and hence, be included in
POP.
7. Gall formation due to root
knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) in moong bean can be effectively reduced
by seed treatment with neem oil @ 10 ml/kg seed.
8. Guar variety RGC-1031 has
been released and notified for cultivation and hence be included in the POP.
9. Seed soaking for 8-10 hour
in 500 ppm thiourea solution followed by its sprays @ 0.1% at knee height and
tasselling stages results in significantly higher grain yield in maize.
10. Foliar spray of 500 ppm
thiourea solution at branching or flowering stage results in significantly
higher seed cotton yield.

and 50 kg P2O5 per ha.

Humid southern plains.
1. Use recommended dose of
fertilizer + 25 kg/ha zinc sulphate + Boron 0.6 kg/ha (intercropping cotton +
soybean, 1:1 row) in two equal splits at flowering and early ball formation
stages in cotton.
2. Use foliar spray of K2O (@
5kg/ha) along with NPK was found suitable for increasing the yield and quality
of fiber of cotton.
3. Use recommended NPK (N
through neem coated urea as half basal and remaining half in two splits) in
transplanted paddy.
4. As bio-inoculants and
organic manure, applying combination of 75% recommended NPK + 25% N through
FYM + Azotobactor + PSB + VAM was found most effective in up land paddy.
Zone Vth
Humid south eastern
1. Semi-dwarf variety PbH-
71 of rice was included in POP. It matures in 130 -135 days. Average yield
55-60 qtl./ha.
2. Spray of Pretichlor
50-EC 0.75 kg a.i. per ha after 3-5 days of transplanting in rice crop to
control the all weeds of grass family.
3. For hybrid rice 150
Nitrogen, 60 P2O5 and 60 K2O is required. Full dose of P2O5 and half dose of
Nitrogen and ¾ dose of Potash may be applied at puddling. ½ dose of rest
Nitrogen may apply at tillering stage. Rest of Nitrogen and ¼ of K2O may be
applied at the flowering stage.
4. Two spray of Acephate 75
SP 500 gm Ist at 35 days after transplanting and IInd at 55 DAT to control
insect pest in rice are beneficial.
5. Variety Pratap Soya-2
(RKS-18) is recommended. It matures in 90-95 days and yields 20-30 qt/ha.
Oil content 18-20%.
6. Mulching of weeds at 30
days after sowing in between the two rows of soybean control the weeds in
soybean.
7. Making furrow after two
rows and irrigation at 40% deficiency in available water increase the yield
of soybean.
Agro- Climatic Zone-wise
recommendations included in the package of practices for Rabi 2006-07 are as

Zone I-a (ATC Rampura,
Jodhpur)
1. Mustard varieties are
RH-819 and JM-1 and wheat variety Raj-3777 found suitable for cultivation in
the Zone.
2. Seed inoculation of
bio-fertilizers and Azotobacter and Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) each
500 g /ha on mustard enhanced the seed yield and could save 25% Nitrogen and
Phosphorus.
3. The application of
oxyfluorfen or oxadiargyl at 50 g/ha applied at 20 DAS with an additional one
hand weeding at 35 DAS was recommended to include in POP for controlling weeds
in cumin.
4. In Mustard two foliar
spray of TGA @ 100 ppm at 50% flowering and pod filling stage enhanced the
seed yield considerably.
Zone I-b (ATC Srikaranpur,
(Ganganagar)/ Hanumangarh
5. Introduce of new cultivar
of Mustard RGN-48.
6. Use of mixture of
Trichoderma harzianum and viride in 1:1 ratio @ 10 gm /kg seed treatment and
its spray @ 2% at 50 DAS for control of stem rot in mustard crop.
7. Under IPM in Gram, for
control of pod borer NPV @ 112 Helicoverpa equalent + Endosulfan 35EC @ 600
ml/ha spray and if needed its spray at the interval of 10 days.

Zone – II-a (ATC Tabiji,
Ajmer)
1. In mustard crop five
sprinkler irrigations at 25, 50, 75, 95,110 days after sowing, operating
sprinkles for four hours in each irrigation was recommended.
2. Among two years crop
rotation pearl millet – mustard- cluster bean- barley cropping sequence with
the application of 5 ton FYM/ha once in two year was found most suitable.
3. Apply 40 kg P2O5 /ha and
30 kg ZnSo4/ha in cluster bean crop only cluster-bean barley rotation.
4. For control of root rot in
gram, seed treatment with Topsin-M + Thiram ( 1+2 g /kg seed) and for organic
farming soil treatment at the time of sowing with Trichoderma viride/
harzianum @ 2.5 kg/ha mixed with 50 kg FYM along with seed treatment with
Trichoderma viride /harzianum @ 10.0 g/kg seed was found effective.
5. For control stem rot in
mustard, seed treatment with carbendazim @ 1.0 g/ kg seed followed by one
spray of Carbendazim @ 1.0 g/lit water after 65 days of sowing was found
effective.
6. (Provisional) Spray of
Thiomithoxam 25 WG @ 100 g/ha for aphid control in mustard and repeat after 15
days of first spray if necessary.
Zone – II-b (ATC Sumerpur,
Pali)
1. Mustard variety CS-52
recommended for saline conditions.

recommended

RF-125 was recommended.
4. Fenugreek variety RMT-143
was recommended.
5. Oat multi cuts variety
JHO-851 was recommended.
6. Spray of Difenoconazole
(Score 25 EC) @ 0.1 % is effective against powdery mildew of cumin.
7. Seed treatment with
Carbendazim @ 2.g/kg + Trichoderma soil application 2.5 kg/ha with 100 kg FYM
is effective against root rot of Isabgol.
Zone III-a (ATC Tabiji, Ajmer)
1. Wheat seeds treated with
Thiomethoxam 70 WS @ 1.4 mg or Deltamethrin 2.5 WP @ 40 mg/kg seed can safely
be stored for one year in jute canvas bags maintaining the seed germination as
per Minimum Seed Certification Standard.
2. Soaking of jute canvas bag
lets for half an hour in 125 ppm (0.0125% solution) Deltamethrin solution
followed by drying and then storing infestation free wheat seeds (9-10%
moisture) in it effectively protects the seeds from insect infestation without
hampering the seed germination up to storage period of 12 months.
3. The barley variety RD-2660
has been notified in the year 2006 by the Central Varietal Release Committee
for timely sown rain fed conditions in North- Western Plain Zone of the
Country i.e. Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and part of U.P. The variety is 4-5
days earlier in maturity (115-120 days) with average yields 24-25 qt./ha. It
is resistant to yellow and brown rusts with desirable agronomical traits. The
grain is medium bold, yellowish in colour with thousand grain weight between
39-42 gm.
4. For sustainable production
of barley crop, 5 ton vermin-compost/ha as basal application (prepared from
mustard straw) along with 75% recommended dose of NPK should be applied every
year.
5. Soaking of chickpea seed
for 8 hours and foliar application of 2% urea at flower initiation and 10 days
later increases grain yield of chickpea under rain fed conditions.
6. Application of 5t FYM and
30 kg P2Os/ha increases grain yield of kabuli gram.
7. Two foliar sprays of 500
ppm thiourea or 100 ppm thioglycollic acid in mustard crop, first at 50%
flowering stage (40 DAS) and second 20 days after first spray has been
recommended for higher productivity under irrigated as well as under stress
situations (limited irrigations).
8. To protect the crop from
stem rot disease, seeds should be treated with bavistine @ 1 g/kg seed and
followed by the spray of the same fungicide @ 0.1 per cent on the appearance
of the disease in the standing crop (usually appear 65-70 days after sowing).
9. Crop geometry of 30 cm x
30 cm with the application of 120 kg N/ha enhances the seed productivity of
onion.
10. In Zn, Fe and Cu
deficient soils, zinc sulphate, Iron Sulphate and Copper sulphate @ 25, 50 and
10 kg/ha, respectively should be applied before planting of onion bulbs in
field for better onion seed productivity.
11. In sulphur and zinc
deficient soils, Zn and S @ 5 kg and 50 kg/ha through zinc sulphate and gypsum
@ 25 and 400 kg/ha, respectively should be applied before onion bulb
transplanting for better seed productivity.
12. For better onion seed
productivity, soil health enhancement and sustainable production, vermi-compost
@ 15 t/ha along with bio-fertilizers (PSB+ Azotobacter) and 75% recommended
dose of nitrogen is recommended.
13. Composted or vermi-composted
HGPR in the ratio of 15:1 along with PSB (PROM) can be used as an alternative
natural source of phosphatic fertilizer, both for better onion seed and bulb
productivity.
14. If 50 kg phosphatic
fertilizer is applied through PROM then in sulphur deficient soils apply 40 kg
sulphur through gypsum for better onion seed productivity.
15. For higher onion bulb
productivity, vermi-compost @ 15 t/ha and 75% recommended dose of nitrogen
should be applied.
16. Soaking of seeds followed
by seedling dip for half an hour in neem leaf extract (100%, 100 g Neem leaf
crushed in 100 m1 water and strained in muslin cloth) gave significant control
of pink root rot disease of onion induced by
Fusarium so/ani.
17. Three sprays of Mancozeb
@ 0.2% or blitox-50 @ 0.3% at fortnightly interval beginning with the
appearance of disease gave significant reduction in Stemphylium blight
disease of onion and increased the seed yield.
18. To control Dieback and
fruit rot disease of chilli, three sprays of Antracol @ 0.25 per cent at 15
days' interval, beginning with the appearance of the disease is recommended.
19. Acephate 75% SP in tomato
fruits dissipated to below tolerance level (0.5 mg/kg) in 3 days when the
insecticide was sprayed @ 1.25 kg/ha at 50% fruit setting and 15 days later.
20. Profenophos 50% EC in
tomato fruits dissipated to below tolerance level (0.5 mg/kg) in 4 days when
the insecticide was sprayed @ 1.25 lt./ ha at 50% fruit setting and 15 days
later.
21. Drip irrigation for 2
hours at 2 days interval at 1.2 kg/cm2 pressure and 1.5 Vhf discharge enhances
rabi tomato fruit productivity with about 53% water saving as compared
to check basin irrigation.
22. The crop geometry of 1.20
m x 0.80 m has been recommended for deshi rose (Pushkar Valley) for higher
productivity and profitability.
23. The ber variety 'Gola'
has been found more productive in the State.
24. The Aonla variety 'NA-T
has been found more productive in the State.
25. Application of 75%
recommended dose of fertilizer along with 10 t FYM or 5 t vermi-compost and
Azotobacter seed inoculation has been recommended for higher productivity
of oat.
26. On overall basis cluster
bean --rabi onion - groundnut - wheat cropping system may be recommended for
the farmers of Zone-IlIa, as it is most remunerative and improves soil health
in terms of fertility status.

Sugarcane.

8. Transplanting of onion
crop in the month of December reduces the bolting problem.
